What is Sol Step Reset?
Ever felt like you wanted to get things off your chest, make sense of the anxiety, maybe you’re struggling with sleep and caught up in your overthinking, or struggling to come to terms with your rocky past and current story? Has the whole sitting on a couch idea ever felt uncomfortable and just not ideal?
Walk and talk therapy works much the same as your in- person or online therapy sessions, except instead of a couch, you walk with your therapist out in nature away from the confines of 4 walls and fluorescent lights. Walk and talk therapy offers countless benefits aside from the fresh air an exercise.
Benefits and Safety Considerations
As being in nature is in itself a therapeutic tool, studies have shown that walk and talk therapy removes the boundaries and intimidation felt by more formal settings. Studies have found a greater reduction in psychological distress, anxiety, and stress. Clients have reported feeling less pressure from staring eyes and subsequently an improvement in overall well being as treatment reduces client rumination and low mood.
Safety in Walk-and-Talk Therapy
At Solcity Therapy and Wellness, your well-being and safety is my top priority. Of course, considering an outdoor form of therapy comes with lots of questions and concerns, and I take careful steps to make our sessions both safe and supportive.
Privacy & Confidentiality
We choose quiet, low-traffic routes to minimize interruptions and maintain your privacy.
If we encounter someone you know, I will follow your lead in how you’d like me to respond and we discuss this in advance as well.
Just like in-office sessions, everything you share outdoors remains confidential.
Physical Safety
Walks are tailored to your comfort and mobility. You set the pace, and there are always options for rest stops.
Sessions are held on safe, accessible walking paths and your therapist walks alongside you prepared with supplies for the events you just can’t plan for.
Weather conditions are considered carefully—if it’s unsafe to walk, we can move our session online or rebook at your convenience.
Emotional Safety
Being outdoors may bring up unexpected feelings. I check in regularly to ensure you feel supported and grounded.
If at any point you prefer to pause or sit, we adjust the session to meet your needs.
Boundaries & Professionalism
Our sessions outdoors are guided by the same professional standards as in the office.
You will always know the meeting point, route, and expectations ahead of time.
Walk-and-talk therapy is designed to help you feel grounded, supported, and at ease in nature—without compromising your comfort or safety.
"I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order."
